FAQ

Questions about setup, displays, and game support.

This is the practical stuff: what works today, what still needs testing, and how Facette differs from the other ways people build button panels.

Getting started

What is Facette?

Facette turns a second screen into a live, game-specific instrument panel with controls built in. It reads supported game telemetry and reflects what is happening while you play.

What is a Face?

A Face is a live interface built around one game. It brings together telemetry, status information, alerts, pages, and controls on the screen you choose.

Which games are supported?

Elite Dangerous and X4: Foundations are the first supported games.

Is Facette available now?

Facette is entering a limited free Windows trial.

Is the trial free?

Yes. Long-term pricing has not been finalized.

Displays and input

Does Facette only work with the Corsair Xeneon Edge?

No. The first layouts are designed for the Edge at 2560 × 720, but Facette can open on other connected Windows displays. Compatibility and layout quality will vary by screen size while adaptive scaling is still being developed. Direct phone and tablet support is also planned.

Can I use a regular non-touch monitor?

Yes. Live readouts and status information can run on a normal second monitor. Interactive controls need a usable touch or pointer input path.

Does touching Facette make the game lose focus?

No. Facette runs in a window that does not take focus from the game.

What about the cursor jumping or the camera moving?

That is one of the main problems Facette was built to solve. On the tested X4 and Elite Dangerous setups, touching the Face does not warp the game cursor, jerk the camera, or make the game lose focus.

Does Facette refocus the game after every touch?

No. Refocusing after every touch can cause stutter, audio cuts, and visible interruption. Facette is designed so the game never loses focus in the first place.

Does Facette support phones and tablets?

Not yet. Facette currently runs on Windows displays. Direct phone and tablet support is planned so you can use a screen you already own instead of needing dedicated hardware. A tablet that Windows exposes as a normal secondary display may already work, but that setup has not been broadly tested.

Bindings and game data

Does it import my existing bindings?

Facette imports bindings where supported and loads each supported game's known action list, so the controls match what you've actually mapped.

How does a Face control know which key to send?

A Face control is linked to a game action, such as landing gear or travel mode. Facette maps that action to the user's current binding where the game exposes enough information.

Does Facette show live game data?

Yes. Supported telemetry can update controls and readouts with information from the game.

How do I know whether a state is live or remembered?

Facette shows which states come directly from the game and marks anything it is only remembering or can no longer verify.

Does it work with HOTAS, controllers, or custom keybinds?

Yes. Facette is meant to complement existing controls, not replace them. Binding support depends on what each game exposes.

Other tools and what comes next

How is this different from Stream Deck or Touch Portal?

Those tools are good at quick button grids. Facette is focused on full-screen, game-specific layouts with larger touch targets, live game data, and stable same-PC touch behavior.

How is this different from GameGlass?

There is some overlap. GameGlass combines game information and touch controls across many devices and games. Facette is currently focused on full-screen, game-specific interfaces for Windows secondary displays, and I want each Face to push deeper into one game's telemetry and workflows while keeping same-PC touch stable without stealing focus or moving the cursor.

What is Facette Foundry?

Foundry is the planned creation system for building and editing Faces from shared game actions, telemetry connections, components, layout kits, and visual skins.

Can I request another game?

Yes. Requests help decide what gets investigated next. New telemetry support depends on what the game safely exposes.

Can I support development?

Yes. Optional Ko-fi support helps cover code signing, games, hardware testing, hosting, and other development costs. Support does not guarantee a feature or roadmap item.

Still have a question?
