Facette puts live game data and controls on your second screen.

It runs alongside the game and opens on whichever display you pick. What it draws there is a Face: a screen built for one specific game, showing the state that game exposes and the actions you would otherwise dig through menus for. Elite Dangerous and X4: Foundations are the two Faces so far. A touchscreen gets you the controls, and a plain second monitor still shows the live readouts.

Real captures

The game above. Its Face below.

Each one is a single real moment: the game on the main display, its Face on a second Windows display underneath. The readouts come from the game itself. Your own arrangement can differ, and nothing on the Face needs a touchscreen to read.

Per-game Faces

Each Face is built for one game.

A Face is authored around a single game: its actions, your bindings, and whatever live state that game actually exposes. That is why no two Faces come out the same shape.

Live game data, and the gaps in it

Values that come straight from the game are marked as such, and anything Facette is only remembering or can no longer check looks different. Sending a command doesn't make it true until the game says so, and state the game never exposes stays blank rather than guessed.

What a Face carries depends on the game

Speed, fuel, shields, the current target, what happened earlier in the session, the arithmetic you would otherwise do on a wiki. Which of those a Face ends up holding comes down to what its game gives it.

Controls that don't take focus

Touching the Face sends your own mapped binding without warping the cursor, jerking the camera, or pulling focus off the game. Touch is optional: a plain second monitor still shows the readouts.

More games can get their own Face when they expose enough to build one worth having. None of them get named here before they work.

How it works

Pick a game, choose a screen, and play.

Facette handles the setup underneath so the Face can behave like part of the game instead of another window fighting for control.

  1. Choose a game and screen. Facette finds your connected Windows displays and opens the Face where you want it.
  2. Use your existing controls. It loads the game action list and imports bindings where supported.
  3. Play normally. Touching the Face sends the mapped action while the game keeps control of focus, the cursor, and the camera.
